Just received the headphones today and straight out of the package they were defective, the cable going to the L earphone was real short and the cable going to the right ear was fine length, they don’t fit in your ear very well to shield out surrounding noise. So with that being said I still wondered if the ” Virtual Surround Sound ” was a gimmick, it is. In my opinion these headphones do not sound any better or different than the Creative headphones that came with my Dell laptop, by far the Creative’s that come with the XPS sound much better, they carry more range than these from Philips. Not recommend purcahsing these.

Buy something else seriously. The earbuds that came with your iPod sound better than these by miles. The soundstage on this Philips is so narrow it’s like you’re instead listening to someone else next to you with their earphones on a high volume setting. Bass sounds like a “pat, pat, pat” while the mids and highs are either screeching your inner ear or are barely audible.

These earbuds are so big that it’s like shoving coins into your ears. They hurt, they’re uncomfortable and the only options they have for the rubber that goes on the ear piece is big and bigger. What about people who don’t have abnormally large ears or ear holes?
Good job Phillips.

I purchased these for $20 thinking that they would be decent. They are terrible. Sound quality is not very nice at all and fitment is just ridiculously terrible. I’m getting some sennheisers now..

I can’t imagine how anyone can honestly say these sound good, let alone “great”. The package claims 16Hz-22KHz, but I’m only hearing maybe 80Hz-12KHz. They distort at low volume levels, and to top it off they are remarkably uncomfortable.
The only good thing about these headphones is that they are going back to the store tomorrow.
