Just bought the Bose Sound Dock 10 as a primary stereo that would be used with multiple MP3 players (Blackberry & iPhone). There were three main features I was looking for which were, 1) sound quality and reliability 2) compatibility with Blackberry & iPhone 3) Usability and wireless capability
1) As for the sound quality and reliability, I would give it a fantastic rating. The Bluetooth provides high fidelity in terms of sound quality, but the signal can be compromised if your MP3 device is located near a strong wireless signal or a microwave. A tradeoff you have to pay for the convenience for wireless.
2) In general, both Blackberry and iPhone work well when docked to the SoundDock 10. However, when the devices are connected via Bluetooth that is another story. Ironically, the SoundDock 10 works better in the Bluetooth mode with the Blackberry even though it is strongly marketed to the iPhone/iPod users. The biggest issue with the SoundDock 10 is that when it is paired with the iPhone via Bluetooth, you cannot adjust the volume using the iPhone. What this means is if you want to control both the volume and playlist, you have to carry both the iPhone and the remote control on you. This seems to be a real design flaw with Apple and Bose. For the price range of this product, you would expect that you could manage your playlist and volume while using your iPhone. I would suspect that this is more of an Apple issue since my Blackberry will control both the playlist and volume while paired in the Bluetooth mode.
3) The design and simplicity of usage is great. Bose has focused there efforts on providing high sound quality while designing an elegant system that enables the user to use whatever device they want to manage there music. I do think they could have designed a couple of control buttons on the stereo as oppose to relying solely on the remote control.
My overall recommendation is, if your a Blackberry user, buy it! Sound quality and ease of use is amazing.. If you’re an iPhone user, I would recommend waiting until Apple develops or releases new SW that will address the volume control issues.

I am very pleased with the Bose SoundDock 10 system. I like its small footprint — I can put it anywhere just about. I have hearing loss and even so, I was amazed at the depth of sound this system produces and what I’m able to hear with it.

SoundDock 10 sounds great. Pricey but a great sound. Definitely keeping it. Consider the bluetooth adapter! My iPhone and iPod touch are perfect companions for it.

I purchased this based on all the positive reviews here & was still blown away by the amazing sound quality coming out of this iPod docking station. Although somewhat pricey, I do feel I got what I paid for and am so glad I didn’t settle for lesser quality in order to save a few bucks.
